Jewellery Care Guide

Jewellery made of sterling silver and above

Higher purity of silver and gold are soft and extendable, and these jewellery pieces keep the original features of valuable metals that they are made of.

This may apply to the following collections: Sterling Silver, Sterling Silver Post

  1. Sterling silver post of earrings might be bent during delivery, but don’t panic. You can slowly bend it back easily with your hands. Sterling silver posts do not break under normal circumstances.
  2. High purity of silver can tarnish in contact with sulfur, removing silver pieces before soaking into hotspring or onsen is necessary. If silver jewellery pieces do tarnish, sinking them in silver cleaning solution, washing out the solution with running water, patting dry, and polishing them with a piece of silver polishing cloth can bring the shiny silver colour back. Toothpaste or vinegar can somehow do the same job when you do not have proper cleaning solution at home. Note: Frequent washing can lead to loss in coating on silver surface, which causes further tarnish and loss in weight.
  3. Gold pieces do not tarnish as much as silver, but gold jewellery pieces gradually turn into a vintage gold colour. Some people keep the jewellery pieces as they are, while some people may polish them with a piece of silver polishing cloth. Note: Frequent polishing or washing can lead to loss in surface coating and weight.
  4. Gold items in Dazz+ hypoallergenic collection are 14K or 18K gold plated on sterling silver posts. Dangling parts may have 14K or 18K gold plated on different materials.
